Memory Films

Stop motion animation is a simple, creative way to make films using everyday objects and a smartphone. Unlike other forms of animation that require specialist skills or expensive software, stop motion allows people to bring memories and stories to life using objects such as clay, puppets, photographs, or meaningful items.

The Memory Film Toolkit

The Memory Films toolkit was developed with people living with dementia and their families. It offers a creative way to share stories, reconnect with memories, and strengthen family bonds through a collaborative activity.

This toolkit provides practical guidance and simple steps to support people living with long-term conditions or disabilities, alongside their families, friends and carers, to create short, animated films of personal memories using simple stop motion techniques.
